Sequoia Capital India

It's quite some days I have not written any blog. I got a little stuck in day today tasks. But here is some research on Sequoia Capital India which has been formed as a merged entity by Sequoia Capital and WestBridge VC funds.

The news is SequoiaCap has acquired Westbridge (which have approx $350 million under fund) under some undisclosed amount.

The fund is managed by
Hari Agrawal, KP Balaraj , Mohit Bhatnagar, Sumir Chadha, Prashant Gupta, Ravi Shankar GV , Krishnan Iyer, Surendra Jain, Shailendra Singh, Sandeep Singhal

In India they(mostly Westbridge) already have invested in some 25 odd companies till now

Applabs Technologies, Astra Business Services, Bharti Telesoft Limited, Brainvisa Technologies, Coffee Day , Dr Lal PathLabs , Emagia Corporation , ICICI OneSource , Indecomm Global Services ,Induslogic ,July Systems ,marketRx ,Mauj ,Nazara Technologies , ReaMetrix ,Royal Orchid Hotels , Shaadi.com , Strand Life Sciences , Tarang , Times Internet , Travelguru , Tutorvista , Zavata , Zenasis Technologies

The areas of investment are around mainly
1. Services (Education, Healthcare, Internet , Outsourcing and Hospitality)
2. Software(Wireless, Application and DataManagement)

There general investments are
Seed Stage $100K - $1M
Early Stage $1M - $10M
Growth Stage $10M - $50M
